How to Write Good Essays · Jun 8, 01:41 PM
Good planning is essential and writing an outline is a must! Organization of main points and then drafting is the next stage. Remember that the introduction is the most important part of any essay. Like a movie trailer it should capture the reader’s interest and make him want to read on. It should give the background of the subject as well as explaining what the reader can expect to see later on. Don’t forget a thesis statement for an argumentative essay!
The body paragraphs should be coherent and contain a topic sentence which should relate to your main theme. Do not go off topic! For an argumentative essay remember to include a counterargument and perhaps also a refutation.
The conclusion should restate the background and perhaps give a suggestion. Although it’s very tempting do not include any extra information or new points in your conclusion.
Finally proofread and edit your essay. Get a friend or a parent to go over your work and correct it for you! Or even better have a Private English tutor help you with your essay writing.
