Ten Tips For Higher Marks
The IELTS listening test is one of the hardest sections for Hong Kong students. Here are 10 top tips to help you to get higher scores.
- Underline key words in the questions
- Think of synonyms for the key words - the words you hear will be different from the ones in the questions
- Read & follow the instructions carefully
- Understand the structure of the listening test
- Predict what you will hear by reading through the questions
- Write your answers in the question book clearly so that you can transfer them to the answer sheet easily
- Use the "check your answers" time to read the questions ahead
- Answer all the questions as there is no penalty for wrong answers
- The 1st two sections are easier so try and get all the answers correct for these
- Practice listening with feedback from an experienced IELTS tutor.
